Dye was added to the fountain Wednesday to announce the showing of “Pretty in Pink”, the first movie in the new Fountain Films on Friday series presented by Hilliard Lyons.
 
But it appears they might have overdone it a bit. The fountain appears bright red instead of the intended pink.
 
“Pretty in Pink”, the kick-off of the Harry Dean Stanton Fest; is being sponsored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure Lexington and will show this Friday.
 
“The fountains’ pink water not only helps to promote our first movie “Pretty in Pink,” it also brings awareness to the fight against breast cancer,” Renee Jackson, President of the Downtown Lexington Corporation said.
 
Triangle Park will transform into an outdoor movie theater complete with an inflatable screen on selected Fridays through the summer. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a free movie. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Come early to enjoy music and lawn games in the park.
 
All movies will begin at dark and are produced by New Heights, www.newheights.biz and coordinated by Downtown Lexington Corporation, www.downtownlex.com
